Once you have temped at enough places in NYC long enough, you will come to see that temping has very little to do with the Client actually needing someone to do work.
You could be on your temp assignement because your temp agency is so well connected with someone at the Client that it doesn't matter if there is any work or what you do, your purpose is to supply the agency with signed timesheets for allegedly doing temp work.
At one investment bank, I came to believe that this IBank used a lot of temps because it had hired a lot of Psycho Minority Women Supervisors that no one in the company would work
