There is something about the Transporter that just does not work. The movie really looks like the first episode of a tv series. I cannot for the life of me understand why so much time is spent establishing the character of the Police detective in the movie.
Anywho, what really disrupts the movie completely is that the Villain is so much more attractive than the hero. I don't know who the villain is in the movie, but the way he walks, the way he talks and everything about him is so much more interesting that anyone else in the movie. The guy's accent sounds like a mix of Puerto Rican and French, in fact he looks like a mix of Puerto Rican and French.
Amazing, it turns out that the "Villain" in Transporter is a guy named Matt Schulze and he was born in St Louis. The guy was also in both Blades (i.e. Blade 1 and Blade 2), both of which I've seen and I didn't even notice Matt
Once the Villain is done away with, in a way that is not really very interesting, the movie is over but it still goes on.
One last thing. Madonna's husband has to be given a lot of credit for knowing how to make men look beautiful. The HERO character in Transporter was first seen in Lock Stock (and two smoking barrels, I think) and somehow he looked so much more attractive in Lock Stock than in Transporter. I think the guy just does not hold up under direct head on color shots, he looks great in black and white and side shots.

It turns out that the actor who plays the Police detective is a huge star in Europe and the Asian Actress who plays the Package is a huge star in Asia.
This movie will probably make a mint outside of the US market and what we in the US think of it does not really matter.
