At the end of Red Dragon, you realize why Red Dragon was made. At the end of Red Dragon, "Hannibal" is told that there is a woman from the FBI to see him and Hannibal asks: "What's her name". The only reason for this REMAKE of the first Hannibal is so that, some day, someone can splice together the entire Hannibal series into one movie.
In the movie "Elephant Man", the Elephant Man breaks down in tears when he in introduced to a woman who DOES NOT recoil in repulsion upon seeing him (the woman in the Elephan Man was an actress who prepared herself to not show repulsion").
In "Manhunter", Michael Mann's original movie of "Red Dragon", the Red Dragon is likewise "taken-a-back" when he meets a woman who does not recoil in repulsion upon seeing him (because the woman in this case is blind).
"The Meeting Someone Who Is Not Repulsed by You Effect" is completely lost in Red Dragon, I do not believe that the audience for Red Dragon will view Ralph Finnes as repulsive.
Almost everything in Red Dragon unfolds exactly as it did in Michael Mann's "Manhunter", only in Red Dragon it is just boring.
I absolutely HATED the guy who is now on CSI when he did the Ed Norton role in Manhunter, but still, Manhunter is a better movie than Red Dragon.

See, this is the kind of stuff I notice on TV.
On CSI tonight, the guest villian is the Actor who played the "Tooth Fairy" (the killer) in Manhunter. The Boss CSI guy currently on CSI (I refuse to find out what his name is because I don't really like him) played the Ed Norton role in Michael Manns' Manhunter.
