I actually had a temp counselor change the rate of an assignment I was on without telling me. And because I wasn't checking my paycheck, it was a while before I realized that the rate was different than when I started the job (I was working a lot of overtime so the money was always different amount).
When I called the counselor, he said "Yea, I had to change it because blah blah blah ..."
I stayed on this temp assignment and I basically stayed with the agency and I actually made a shit load of money from this particular agency. In fact, I made the most money in a year that I had ever made in my life, including when I worked as an Engineer for Ford Motor Company.
Several years later, I met up with the same temp counselor at another agency and he gave me an assignment at a law firm that paid $30.00/hr on third shift, which was a lot for me because I almost never work third shift.
I guess the moral of the story is, you have to choose your battles and ALWAYS CHECK YOUR CHECK FOR ERRORS.
