In it's annual issue on temping for actors, Back Stage went out of it's way to have a section on the "perception of actors temping". I can tell you what the perception really is of actors temping, everyone hates them because they are idiots.
The only people who want to see actor temps are the hard up supervising thangs who hope to have sex with them (at a reduced rate).

Actor Temps ™
If you take everything really fahked up about White New Yorkers and distilled it down into it essence, you would have the idiot fahking Actor Temps ™.
Actor Temp fahkers behave as though they have Bill Gate's Money and Elton John's Talent, but of course these loser fahkers have no money and no talent. Essentially, idiot fahker Actor Temps have this image that they are special based solely on the fact that they are White. To idiot fahker Actor Temps being White in and of itself makes them witty, talented and soon to be wealthy.
I once actually sat back on a temp assignment at an investment bank and watched this poor investment banker try to get some work out when he had this brain dead actress ahole doing word processing for him. The poor guy just keep trying to convey to the beauch that he needed to get the work done in a hurry, and the beauch just kept going on and on about auditions she was going to and acting classes she was taking.
Actor Temps are the fahking scum of the earth, it should be legal to kill these idiot fahkers on sight.

I'm Not Really Here
There was an article in some magazine some years ago about how young people have this concept of "real life". The article described how young people could say that the life they were living was "not real life" because they were not doing what they really wanted to do. These people had this idea that "real life" started when they started doing what they really wanted to do.
This is in essence how idiot fahker actor temps view life. When you are on a temp assignment with idiot fahker actor temps, you will get used to these idiot fahkers saying (in effect) "I'm not really here", because real life for the stupid aholes starts when they are cast for some big budget movie with Tom Cruise.
Actor Temps are not really temps, they really are actors, they are just temping until real life starts.
Can you imagine working on a job with some loser ahole for a year or more and having that ahole come into work everyday and say: "I'm not really here"? I have been on long term temp assignments with actor temp aholes and have seen these aholes every day for years, and every fahking day they would come into work with this "I'm not really here" attitude.
No banker or lawyer with a real need to get work done is going to have an actor temp work for him or her. Everyone knows that these stupid actor temp fahkers are useless. The only people with any interest at all in actor temps are people (usually supervisors of WP Centers) who are looking for a date.
